SpringFairy Moss

Dull lifeless green the majority of the year, this plant lights up in spring. It starts with small yellow buds during the first week after the end of winter, and after a short time, the buds turn into neon green flowers which have some surprising properties. This plant is in fact not a moss at all, but a soft low lying ground covering flower.   Found on the island of Wheoria in the Ascen Archipelago, this plant helped shape the Botany and Alchemical industry of the islands. After being discovered by Binde Warmoss in 6 PD, it was found that these small flowers held a menagerie of uses. The "mossy" part of the plant was found to mimic hops when distilled, producing a floral scented alcohol now common on the islands known as Fairy Ale. The yellow buds, when picked early in spring; before any hint of green is found on them, can be pickled. These pickled buds can then be dried, ground up, and used as a poison. The exact process is kept secret by the Warmoss family for obvious reasons.   The neon green flowers, when picked in full bloom, and combined with 1 part dried unpickled yellow buds, 2 parts "moss" and 2 parts green flowers, can produce a potion with 2 separate effects. The first being a minor healing potion. The second being the most surprising, as the potion takes on a glittery effect, and the drinkers hair changes color. It is a random color, as no one has been able to effectively control the potions abilities. Unfortunately for brewers of these potions, there is no way to determine which one you will get until its already been brewed, that is of course unless you are a part of the Warmoss family.
