Daenl the world tree

Long ago, an ancient and nameless druid circle planted Daenl.* At the time, Daenl was a massive tree, hollowed out on the insides by a long-forgotten species of Purple Worm. after Daenl was hollowed out, massive layers were built within it, some were shrines to ancient deities, others would be sanctuaries for dying beings, but most were gauntlets made to guard powerful treasures. most of these treasures would be otherworldly gifts, bestowed by nature spirits, lords of the nine, dragons, and even gods. but some were made by mortals, some examples being the Wyrmwood trees, and more being vast halls filled with adamantine, created by the Illithorids. but, Gruumsh, the god of the orcs was enraged. he was enraged because the other ancient spirits allowed him no room in the world to put his orcs, so in a fit of rage, he battled the deities of the dawn war, and with a mighty blow from his ax, he chopped down Daenl. when Daenl fell, its great trunk became the Kronox mountains, locking away most of Daenl into the Underdark, leaving behind nothing but the stump.   Long after Grummsh's attack, Castalar Greybeard, the first dwarvish king went on a quest to find the Wyrmwood locked away within the stump of Daenl. he would use the Wyrmwood to craft the Skybow for his arrows of Estora. it took him many winters in his quest for the wood, but when he found it he had one final challenge. an elemental guardian, an invisible golem was guarding the tree. with a long battle with the golem, he eventually found the tree. when he found the tree he took a single branch, using the Grebeard axe made from Adamantine. he used his branch with diamond-dusted string to make the heirloom of all dwarves, the Skybow.   *it should also be noted that some believe the druidic gods of the old pantheon, but the true origins of Daenl remain unknown.
