Kataski Forest (Ka-TASK-ee Forest)

The Kataski Forest almost entirely covers the Western Region of Ket'rani. Also known as the forest of shifting shadows, the forest off the main path has a tendency to shift, causing many travellers to lose their way and become trapped within the forest.   In the heart of the forest lies the elven city of Daskardia. The largest city within the forest, its population predominantly consists of elves, halflings and earth genasi, although there is still a fair amount of humans, dwarves and other species that live within it. Built to be disguised into the terrain, buildings are made from stone, then lined with wood with channels carved into it. Vines are then placed into these channels and allowed to grow, eventually shrouding the entire building with plant life, moss and flowers, letting it blend in with the surrounding area.   To the northwest lies the town of Eisidj.   In the north of the forest near the coast lies the Moongrove, a temple to the Wildmother in the heart of a small settlement. The Moongrove is a moss covered temple made from hardwood and stone, wrapped in vines and creeping flowers, it embodies the power of the Wildmother, and is a frequented place for many members of the Whaleguard who wish to become more in tune with the natural world they protect.   In the most North-West reach of the Western region, on the edge of the forest, the mystical town of Pyre's Point rests on the shore of the sea, built on the tip of the peninsula.     The Kataski forest is host to a range of species and biome types, housing a large variety of plant life, as well as the rare biome of lush caves, home to the beautiful florawhale. As such, many explorers and arcanists visit the forest frequently, hoping to find the valuable resources the maze-like environment houses.

Within the Kataski Forest lies the natural habitat for florawhales: lush caves. Due to the high quantities of rare flowers within these caves, florawhales thrive in them, and are able to grow a variety of useful flowers, many of which have magical properties.
