Dwarven cities
Narrum is dwarven city that lies in the mountains on the edge of Zeda. Through most of history the actual location waas unknown and the lordship would just welcome the dwarves and their trades when they came. Wallace made sure to find them once the conquest was over. He approached them with an offer of joining the newly formed kingdom and receiving bountiful amounts of trade or something might just start happening to dwarven traders. The deal was taken because the dwarves reallied on the rest of the world for many resources that can’t be mined. This deal has actually played out wonderfully for both sides, the kingdom contracted the dwarves for the construction of the railway and continues buying more work and the dwarves have received more goods than they have ever before and have actually started some constructions on the outside because their growth out paces mining. This as the dwarven capital has made life very nice and they see the deal only as a win. Their sister city may not agree but that is discussed elsewhere. Dwarven cities have a lot of resilience because there are many beasts and other foes that dwell underneath and not all of them are friendly. Growth is also to be scouted out because if they built into the wrong area they could find themselves locked in a war with other communities. Dwarven cities have actually engulfed others before and as such many of their cities will have parts of the city dedicated purely for them like the drow. If you are a dwarf you either have rose tinted glasses for the kingdom and joined their ranks or are very suspicious of them and continue to serve your community. The city itself is 15 different levels with another being built, each level has a preplanned layout, with shopping areas, transport areas, relaxation areas, and plenty of housing. Dwarves have nearly everyone employed and they hate to have days with no activity. (dwarf, drow, gnome, and maybe more just ask if you are curious).
Khardul is the other darven built city, that presides on the edge of Buke by the Winterhead lake. The city is much newer than the original city of Narrrum and it shows in many aspects. The city is full of wealthy dwarves that don’t agree with all the decisions that arise from their leadership. They have only 3 levels with a fourth being built. This has also conventionally turned into a research area for the dwarven techs so they can in a way hide it from the eyes in Narrum. With the uniting greatly increasing the number of researchers for all societies it was no surprise to see them move here. The tech of the city is incredible but the main difficulty is getting a ticket for passage into here. Most of the time there are only a few reasons to travel but to travel here requires special invites and these are hard to come by. There are other abandoned strongholds and fortresses within the mountains and the mountainsides that were once operated by the dwarves but many have been abandoned due to being overwhelmed, or underutilized. (Players coming from either of the dwarven cities would be very crafty and hard working. They would also have been smiths, miners, or some variation in their lives at some point or at least be familiar with them. This is also a good place to play some sort of science line of a character since that is part of their focus. Some dwarves enjoy the alliance with the kingdom, others feel like it has ruined their culture.)
