2019-12-17 Quentin, Barbie, and Peri explore a thing.

General Summary

The session picked up immediately after the death of the two black dragons in the Val'Kai village. While Jeki Thistlebane, Frojoh Coilbane, and Talyrr recuperated, the rest of the Dark Ones went ahead to investigate the Chapel of the Forgotten Gods. The place was infested with trolls, black puddings, merrows, and even an energetic Hobgoblin, but they did discover that the temple was made to honour the Old God Arete.   The last portion of the temple was completely underwater. While checking out the depths as an alligator, Ellywick "Periwinkle" Timbers encountered a tentacled creature. While she managed to flee from the thing, it seems she contracted a condition which prevents her from leaving the water without drying out.

The party also gained the following loot from the Dragon's Horde, though the magic has yet to be identified.   Among the many gold and platinum coins are trinkets of good value as well as items of a more mystical nature, namely: a kite shield scored by many gloried battles and which thrums a war beat when you touch it. A crystalline broach holds a mystical shine and shimmers green when it catches the light just right. Still, you find a wand of sorts with a perfectly petrified spider for a pommel and hardened spider silk for the shaft. Interesting though the three things may be, they all pale in comparison to the gold-framed mirror which dangles from a wire some 50' above the pile of coins. With all the tell-tale signs of Elven creation, this mastercraft mirror is hung too high to see through properly, and some care will need to be taken when trying to get it down lest it break on the floor below.
