Notes
Things that changed everything
AALan commanding Harold to give his remote Harold had a perfect plan of showing the party their friends in trouble and letting them run out, or, clicking one button to release his Menagerie to destroy them. Without his remote, his main plan was in flames. AALan snagged this remote one turn before he could use it. Eldrick grappling Harold With his main plan gone, he decided to get close to a portal mirror and peace-out. Eldrick grappled him one turn before he could touch the mirror. Tol levitating him Harold just needed to touch the mirror, so Eldrick's grapple didn't worry him too much. He'd break out at some point. Then Tol levitated him 20 feet in the air. Note, the very next roll to break Eldrick's grip was a 19 + 2 vs Jeff's 6. He was one action away from touching the mirror before levitated Faezyre Commanding a Neocon to run Harold gave up on plan b to leave and opted instead to kill everyone. All he needed was one Neocon to connect with his Uranium bullets with the glass, break the suspended animation on the vault, and release the monsters. With four neocons, they seems statistically impossible to miss. With only three, it seem the odds of missing a glass wall with an automatic weapon were not completely impossible. Eldrick finding the Password Harold wasn't giving up just because everything so far had failed. He couldn't move, sure, but this party had bigger issues than him. He was confident they wanted to save their friends more than waste time with him. And he had the secret to the portals. All he needed was to negotiate his freedom in exchange for that secret. These cubscouts were dealing with a master negotiator now, and there was NO WAY he was giving them the password until he got what he wanted in exchange. Eldrick landing on Harolds desk, then picking up on my mention of things on the desk, opting to search the desk instead of attacking Harold with his bow, and then finding the password were all a series of events I did not plan for. With his leverage gone, Harold pretty much had to surrender at that point. But maybe he could watch as his monsters devoured everyone in the room. If just one neocon could hit a glass wall 5 feet in front of him with a uranium bullet, just one... Throwing Harold into his Neocons. The Neocons never expected to be hit in the back of the head with their boss. This was the turning moment where both Harold and the Neocons admitted to themselves that it was time to throw in the towel. Harold Slammed into a pair of Greasy Dudes and that was pretty much all you need to know about this boss battle. Sure, Harold played tough for a while longer, refusing to give up the password, but he knew that Eldrick had it. He saw the elf find it on his desk. He was stalling for time to see if something, anything, went his way. Eldrick uses the password correctly The series of events I had planned for how the mirrors work were- Touch the Mirror
