1.05 - A Friend Falls Low

General Summary

Starting at the Drunken Pony with Stablemaster Corbin. The crew are on the search for a lost relic recently touched by the Calamity called the Soupspoon of the Soul. Its last known location is the Warrens. The Warrens, they have learned, are cordoned off due to a plague. Corbin suggests to his new customers who just bought 5 horses that they might try the Mushroom vendor in the Undercity. So off they go. In the undercity under the center square of Delver’s Square, they find Hoggle the mushroom vendor. Hoggle is a gentle, simple soul who agrees to take the party to under the Warrens through the sewers. It is a 6 hour journey much of which is uneventful, if unpleasant. Nearing the Warrens, however, the party is beset by mental images of things close to their heart. Tol’ethian finds his master’s through between his hands. Dalandar comforts his sister. Liam imbibes in wine from his god. Zizkek finds a pure source of fire. However these illusions prove deadly as the Psychic Oozes overcome them. A fight bravely and with desparation. Tol is enveloped in one creature and falls dear death, only to be revived by a sacrificial act from liam the paladin reaching into the creature to lay hands on a now recovered but still surrounded elf wizard.
Sadly, not all were so lucky. Hoggle succumb to his ultimate fate and their new friend and guide was lost to them. From here they moved on to the Warrens
