Ember Wood Tribe

Small and secluded Wood Elf tribe, comprised mostly females and consisting of only 8 members that is situated on a cloistered section of the Island that resides in the center of Amalia's Basin [lake north of Amalia].

History

Once a large tribe that inhabited the entirety of the island, their numbers have dwindled down to near extinction over the years. Famine decimated the tribe's original numbers some 200 years ago, yet no relief ever came to the Ember Wood as the years after the great famine only saw ongoing hostilities.

The hostilities mostly included the ongoing expanse of the Maiorem Empire as citizens of the Empire encroached on the lands of the Ember Wood for monetary gain. The tribe controlled a portion of land within the continent of Avarti that cultivated, arguably, the most precious of woods and the capitalists of the Empire sought to seize the land and trees for themselves.

Eventually the King at the time was forced to step in and thus sent negotiators to reconcile with the tribe and the King's citizens. Ultimately, the tribe was provided with a reservation on the island and allowed free travel and commerce among the settlements of the Empire.

Today, the Empire of Maiorem and the Ember Wood Tribe share a satisfactory relationship despite the differences that befell them years ago. Yet, despite the improved circumstances that the tribe finds itself in today, their numbers continue to dwindle...
