Avalor

Long ago, five heroes and their armies stood against a great calamity. A massive portal of dark unknown magic burst into existence in the icy wastes north of Avalor, and through it marched hordes of monsters and creatures, armies of black armour-clad humanoids, and finally, five beings of towering size, bloodred skin and terrifying horns. Able to decimate hundreds at a time with magic and might, they possessed no goal other than to destroy all life on the continent.   500 years have passed since the portal was closed and the heroes disappeared. They are now remembered and worshiped in their respective kingdoms as divine beings. This religion has been codified and now stands as the de facto state religion in the Five Kingdoms. The Faith of Five has its center of worship in The Eternal Watch, a massive fortress that sits atop the Spine of the World.   This is the world you were born into, a world recovered and prospering, although disputes between kingdoms still reign. However, people will always have problems that need the help of others, and monsters continue to roam the lands. Great renown and greater treasures await those brave and skilled enough to claim them.
