Silvercliff City
Established in the early days of the Republic, Silvercliff has established itself as the center of the republic for centuries. The primary city having long ago grown through the cliff-side, the city now grows outward from the bottom of the cliff. This has acted as a separator, the newest and healthiest portions of the city lying above the ground level, and as such the resources tend to rise upward, leaving the bottom, known colloquially thorughout the city as the "Undermaw" destitute.
The city is flourishing, although class is a hotly contested subject. Many residing in the Undermaw believe that their interests are no longer being supported by those above, who have long ago become out of touch with the struggles of day to day life. That being said, there are individuals who seek to right the wrongs of prior generations. Dr. Mallus Holton, an nation renowned doctor has taken up the cause of attempting to improve the lives of those residing in the Undermaw. Others too attempt to improve the station of the city below the cliff walls through various philanthropic efforts, but with the destitute frustrated at their percieved lack of representation, it may only be a matter of time before this conflict inflames itself further.
Demographics
The city is commonly divided between the wealthy and the destitute, generally determined by whom resides on the ground floor, frequently called the Undermaw, and who resides along the cliff-face, called the Upper City.

Government
The city is primarily governed by the Chief of State, voted into office by the representatives of all other cities. Local legislation is developed and put into law by the Chief of State and their cabinet, selected by the Chief of State upon being voted into office. This is the common governmental structure of the cities of The Republic of Silvercliff and has worked with varying degrees of efficacy throughout the nation.
Taxation
The current structure, led by ___ places an emphasis on attempting to placate those residing in the Undermaw. Having long anticipated an upcoming conflict between the two classes, an attempt to change the culture around taxation has led to an increase in taxes for those residing on the cliff, including a newly established property tax. These ideas have been taken with some enthusiasm, but many of the long established wealthy families feel it unfair that the work they've put in to get their station is simply being used for those below.Government Structure
As with all Republic cities, the government is led primarily by its elected Representative to the Council of Silvercliff, but the overseers of their legislative agenda are the cabinet. Each cabinet member is responsible for a certain aspect of the government, and ensures that the Representative's legislative goals are executed effectively and with realities in mind. They are the Secretary of Coin, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Infrastructure, and Secretary of the Populace. The Secretary of the People is also elected at the same time as the Representative, this is to ensure that a representative of the people of any given city are not forgotten.Industry & Trade
The primary export of Silvercliff City are enchanted items developed and created by the Enchanter's Guild. These low cost items have been improving life for citizens of Avainnis for decades, and brought immense wealth to Silvercliff. Additionally, the export of Amynthia provides a slight diversification of these exports.
The primary imports to Silvercliff are produce and livestock, as feeding the populace effectively is a colossal effort
Infrastructure
The city is comprised of two sections, each partitioned off by large fencing and natural geography. The upper echelon can only be accessed via one of the four massive elevator platforms developed to ferry any traffic up and down the cliff face.
In addition to this, the city of Silvercliff has a remarkable structure of sewers and waterways, effectively providing clean water to all houses along the cliff face, and a majority of homes along the Undermaw. These sewers are maintained and cleaned regularly by a race of rat-like creatures the Okitti. The Okitti reliably clean and maintain these sewers in return for safe and warm shelter to house their kin.
Assets
Throughout the Undermaw, many simple stores and general goods can be found. Shops such as the Gnome Depot serve the purpose of providing goods to travelers and adventurers.
The Cliff Face however houses even greater treasures. Beautiful bathhouses such as The Dragon's Tooth Springs serve as meeting places, while

The City of Silvercliff was founded almost two eras ago, in the final century of the Aerannai Empire. After the impending conflict of a quickly evolving Man'Oan army, and the constant hostilities associated with the deserts of Aeridin, the cities throughout the area united to form a single republic, making Silvercliff their center.
