Kwak

Famed explorer of the treacherous islands around Ignus Mons, Kwak is a revered hero. His life was sadly cut short soon after a freak earthquake on a rocky island far away from any help. According to legends passed around, the earthquake caused a giant boulder was headed his way. He managed to duck out of the way, but a giant catfish rose out of the seawater, snapping him up whole.

I wish I was like Kwak. You know he once fought a snapping turtle with his bare wings? He lost a few feathers, but that snappy little quacker was sent floating to heaven.

He winged most of his adventures. In fact, he never prepared for any of them. He had a knack for surviving any situation he wiggled himself into.
On his thirteenth birthday, his party was crashed by a particularly nasty raccoon. The monster tried to steal all of the eggs the children were painting, but Kwak fought it off using a pair of very sharp sticks from his nest. He very quickly earned the respect of his peers from that point, and was seen as fearless.
His most famous escapade was a year before his untimely demise. Kwak was backpacking in the mountains around Ignus Melior, the largest island

around. The eruption of the volcano shook the world, sending fireballs flinging through the sky. A small town peetering off the edge of a sharp cliff was in great danger, and the only one who could save them was Kwak. Luckily, Kwak was around. He managed to fly through the air like an eagle and destroy every last fireball that got close to the town.
His name rung round the island, people left and right cheering for him. A great feast was held in his honour, and a shining crown was placed on his head. This crown sits in the town hall, where it remains today. Some people even visit to pay their respects to this fallen hero. And, people have raised enough money to have the town shuffled back onto safe land, where it cannot topple and fall the moment anyone steps too far over the ledge.

Bad timing

Kwak's demise came at an unfortunate time. The council of Neraia, a rural town in northern Silvara, were just about to unveil a twenty-foot statue of Kwak. They were giddy with excitement about showing him this statue, but two days before the unveiling he was swallowed by the monstrous catfish.

Is he really gone?

Some are convinced that Kwak is not gone. Several reports of a duck person travelling around the world in a thick black cloak have spread around. Ansera aren't very common people, so it is hard to mistakenly see one. Could his death be fake? Was it just a stunt? Did he want to leave the limelight? Nobody will ever know.
