Tasars Tree
Found within The Slumbering Plains of Liakuth stands a lone star tree, surrounded by a small village. A tree planted as a monument and memory of a couragous man named Tasar.
History
It is unknown exactly what year the tree was planted, for it went unnoticed by people for many of its first years. A trade expedition that took a different route to the usual ones happened across the solitary tree, one unnative to the slumbering plains, and tended to by a humanoid with wooden skin.
Upon questioning, the gardener, now called 'The Guardian', revealed the tree as a burial site of Tasar, a man well famed in the region upon his completion and survival of his sealers pact. With the mans death, the guardian, which refers to itself as Pod, carried the body back to the mans home, along with the seed of a star tree, and buried both within the thick layers of snow. The guardian then chose to stay, and guard and look after this unique star tree that marked Tasars grave, bound out of both duty and an unwavering love for its deceased friend.
Tourism
The site became well known across the continent of Liakuth, mostly due to the rarity of a star tree taking to life in the freezing landscape. It drew in flocks of people, most who came to get a glimpse of the tree which otherwise they'd never see in their lifetimes.
There were the few people who tried to claim ownership of the tree to make coin, but many of these folks were chased away by The Guardian. The story of one particular man doing so has became a cautionary tale to warn others from trying to profit from the tree, and The Guardian killed him upon realizing the man would not leave.
Many people set up tents to begin with, which then became poorly constructed shacks. Several years after the site became famous, the first structure was erected, after heavy negotiations with The Guardian. This is now known as the Shrine of Tasar, and is a place of refuge and safety for all who seek it.
More structures have been built since, though they are kept a safe distance away from the star tree at The Guardians requests, and a small settlement resides next to the ever-growing tree.
