Feyfolly Forest, or
FeyFoloi in Elvish, is the largest continuous forest on Ausonia, stretching hundreds of miles from
Halagland and the
Primacy of Kyrjava in the north to
The Sword Coast in the south.
Neverwinter Wood is, strictly speaking, a continuation of Feyfolly.
The Elvish name FeyFoloi means nothing more than "forest of the Fey", but when humans first began interacting with elves during
The Age of Artifice they soon heard the tale of the Fey's accidental migration to Ausonia and so interpreted the name accordingly.
Fey's Folly
During the long-past Age of Creation, the only native races in Ausonia were the goblins (including bugbears and hobgoblins), kobolds, dragons, and halflings. The continent was, however, a favourite playground of visitors from the Feywild. These Fey travelled the length and breadth of Ausonia, but enjoyed the easy ability to return to the Feywild at will, at any time

One day, however, a large group of Fey made a joint journey to Ausonia, appearing deep in the heart of the continent's largest forest. Disaster struck when they found themselves unable to return home, the blurred line between the Feywild and physical world having grown more distinct behind them. Now trapped in the physical plane, the Fey travellers would eventually evolve into the elves, gnomes, and centaurs, and would spread over much of Ausonia during the Age of Exploration. While other Fey would, on occasion, find ways to pass between the realms, the easy movement of the Age of Creation would never be recaptured.
The newcomers named the large wood they had appeared in "FeyFoloi", in recognition of their ancestral connection to it, and many would continue to live there right up to the present day. Centaurs in particular have never been known to have left the forest in any numbers.
