Malev

Malev is first mentioned to the party while having tea with the three pixies; Spider lily, Cowslip & Maypol. They mistake Sorn for, "One of the Shadow's Men" We learn from them the Shadow sends men to kill unicorns and take their horns. Later the party are ambushed by assassins sent by the Mylf to slay and take the horn from the Unicorn. After defeating the assassins, one is left alive to be questioned.

What the party learn

Malev lives in the Palace of Heart's Desire located at the centre of the Prismeer realm, outside of Thither. Yama and Sorn get a visual image of him having cast detect thoughts on the assassin; cloaked in shadows with a cowl and a sneer, he has clawed feet and reclines on a throne. Next to him stands an imposing figure in black armor with a flaming sword at his side. Malev seems to have no interaction with the 3 hags and seems outside their influence. He seeks a unicorn horn so that he can make a magic staff from it.

Minions

Warduke

He wore a suit of half plate mail and his characteristic dread helm, which hid his true appearance from friends and foes alike. Warduke fought wielding a flame tongue sword that he could ignite at will to provide illumination whenever in the dark. Seen standing next to Malev in vision pulled from Zarak's mind.

Zarak

Zarak is an assassin without honor or conscience. Unusually short of stature for someone of orcish heritage, he might pass for an ugly, beardless dwarf were it not for his rotting tusks and grayish pallor. The only thing he loves is money, and he wouldn't hesitate to stab allies in the back if they came between him and the riches he covets. First encountered at the Wayward pool where Zarak attempted to kill the Unicorn Lamorna.
