Powerful necromancer and Weigriff noble Aedan Alexander completes a spell that raises tens of thousands from their graves all across Auros, and spreads mind control magic amongst the masses.

After the murder of his wife and his own near death experience at the hands of drunkard thugs, the noble and savant Aedan Alexander slowly fell into madness attempting to undo what had been done. He had little practice with magic despite his savantism, but quickly grew in power and studied deeply into the taboo art of necromancy in an attempt to revive his deceased companion.

His descent into madness eventually led him to a different path, no longer caring for his original goal and instead seeking further power to bolster his necromantic capabilities. He merged with many demons in the process, and eventually discovered a method of channeling infinite mana through himself to cast spells of enormous power. With this power he simultaneously raised the dead across the entire continent. However, channeling so much mana obliterated his physical form, causing him to instead scatter his essence amongst the people and live on through them with hive-like mind control magic.

This sent the world spiraling into an apocalyptic state of chaos. He continued to wreak havoc and practice necromancy through his hosts' bodies. No one could trust their neighbor anymore, as anyone could be an infected person waiting to strike. The military was unable to handle an enemy who could appear anywhere but disperse so suddenly amongst the populace. People fled the densely populated cities to seek refuge in more rural communities, but nothing could stem the bleeding out of society.
