Auros (Continent)

Auros is a large island continent from which speakers of the common tongue originate. It is the most densely populated region of the planet and therefore the most influential in its future, leading to the planet also being given the same name (but referred to as Greater Auros when differentiation is necessary). It is currently home to five separate, independently evolved intelligent species:
  • Those of the common tongue
    • Humans
    • Orcs
    • Dwarves
    • Elves
    • Jor'kan (also known as pale orcs or horned orcs)
  • Goblins and Ogres
  • Wolverine
  • Draconians
  • Centaur Shapeshifters (of alien origin)

Geography

Auros is a large island continent in the northern hemisphere of the planet. It has varying environments but is mostly made up of grasslands and forests. There are two mountainous areas: a large mountain range (Stoneheart Mountains) splitting a portion of its western lands off from the rest of the continent, and a small set of mountains (Dunmaul) in the northeast. A large section of the northwest is desert and badlands. In contrast, the south eastern section of the continent is full of marsh and jungle.

Fauna & Flora

This will be covered in more depth in each individual region's article. However to summarize, with a few exceptions, there isn't anything too outlandish or fantastical here. Flora & Fauna are for the most part reminiscent of things you would find in North America, Europe, and some parts of Asia.

Natural Resources

This will also be covered in more depth in each individual region's article. There is an abundance of forests and therefore plenty of lumber and other resources that may be used from trees. There is plenty of fertile farmland, and both mountainous regions are ample with metal ores and good stone.
