Aurora

In the year 2094, generation ships were launched from Earth to seed the Milky Way. Some arrived at their destinations, several were lost on their journeys.   One such generation ship arrived at a star system 250 light years from Sol and happened upon a lush garden world. This world was named Aurora, after the ship that transported the people to it. The planet was surveyed for a year after the ship's arrival and was deemed to be suitable for human life.   350 years after first contact with Aurora, civilization flourishes with different factions divided into nation states, similar to the countries back on Earth. Each faction claims territory on the various planets and moons in the system which provide valuable resources to Aurora. Many space stations have been established throughout the system as well.   The landing site of Aurora remains a sacred ground, protected by treaties that even the fiercest of enemies adhere to.   Space travel is still primitive. While FTL travel does exist, it is still too early in development to be useful. As such, the factions of Aurora have yet to establish contact again with the cradle of humanity.   Aurorans reset the calendar year to 0 once they made their first settlements. The suffix "APF" means After Planet-Fall. The year 0352 APF is equivalent to 2744 A.D on Earth.
