Tatalis

Wreathed in sparkling gemstone mountains, the brilliant gem of the Heartlands is the home of the Mountain beasts and the origin of all their creations. Seen as a near mythical location by outsiders, the great city of Tatalis is the origin of the Resonance, the magic that runs through the veins of all Gem creatures on Aurelia. The massive amount of Resonance emanating from Tatalis is responsible for the dense forests that spread like a shadow from the icy blue peaks of the Crystalline mountains, and for the wildlife that inhabit those forests.
Removed from the rest of the world by both its placement and by choice, the goings on of Tatalis remain a mystery to most of the world, only hearing bits and pieces about it from the tall tales of Jodin merchants who were permitted to use the Northern Threshold to pass out of the Below. Tales are told of Talukstone shaped as ribbons shining in every color imaginable, woven together into a city that looked as if it was flowing out of the mountains themselves and up into the sky.
