Seele

A displaced race, short and fairy like, Seele are a poetic bunch with no homeland. They have integrated into society to certain aspects of success, but with such small numbers its questionable if they will survive another five hundred years. They are known for being a very emotional people, and having a a natural empathy to everything around them.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

A Seele is a short humanoid, one of the most bizarre and alien of the civilized races in the world. Because of what is believed to be a residual trait of possible fey heritage, their hair and eyes tend to be exorbitant colors. Compared to their bodies, they have surprising toughness, as their bones are of a harder but lighter cast than those of Half-lings, another small and similar race. Many, though not all, have skin tones that match those of other humanoids who live in the region, often with tints of olive or gold.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

The Seele have no culture and tradition of her own, although many have mostly adopted the culture of those they live nearest. What they do share however is a love for art and literature. Almost all Seele have adopted some sort of art form, be it music, dance, drawing, writing, painting, or poetry. Many live very adventurous lives, so that they may experience knew things that they may project into their art.

History

In the year 212 A.C they just suddenly appeared from nowhere, with the first ones appearing on the southern coast near what is now known as The Republic. They quickly adapted to this world, and quickly fell in love with its different forms of artistic expression. They still have a deep sadness knowing this is not the world they belong in. They have no certain forms of history, as most of it is second hand stories they were only able to tell after learning language, something they only discovered when they came here.   Many quickly grew a fondness for the beauty of the Elven culture and migrated to Island of Alder. The Elves were the only ones to truly care about the Seele and their plight, where as the many other people of Aula either paid no heed to the Seele, or outright rejected them. It is believed this is because both the Seele and the Elves share some sort of fey heritage. With this, a majority of the worlds population of Seele exist on the Island of Alder, with the second largest being those surrounding The Republic.   One thing the Seele have greatly contributed to society is the raising of animals. It has been observed within the Seele people the ability to domesticate and communicate with animals on a level only seen in druids. This has brought many Seele to settle on farms to raise animals such as pigs, cows, chickens, horses, dogs, etc. with many of these farms found in The Republic.
