The Anaian Clade

The Anaian Clade, often called the Clade is an organization that presides over magi and magical matters within the Larkish Empire as well as several neighboring states across Eckre and Northern Atira. However, its influence extends to its members regardless of where in the world they are located. The Anaian Clade's seat of power is Ea Soleum, an independent city-state located on the northern coast of Lark. From here, the Grand Magister oversees the activities of all Clade Academies, which are institutions dedicated to the academics and training of magi.

Structure

• Grand Magister: The Clade's direct representative to governments, elected from the High Magisters' Conclave. The Grand Magister oversees the activities of the Clade and its members across the world.
• High Magister: Representatives of Academia.
• Magister: Officers within an Academe. Each Academe has one Magister for each school of magic.
• Mage-Tutor: Practitioners of advanced magic, licensed to take Mage-Apprentices under their wing.
• Mage: A member of the Anaian Clade. Mages are licensed practitioners of magic.
• Mage-Apprentice: A mage in-training.

Public Agenda

The Anaian Clade oversees the magi and magical activities within and around the Larkish Empire. It also functions to provide safe haven for magi within the grounds of its many academies scattered throughout its territories.

History

The Clade was founded on 29th of Northarvest, Wing 37, one year after the duel between the sorceress Aia and the primal beast Apiiru. The sorceress's hubris had laid waste to the continent of Atira, turning the once fertile plains into glassified desert. This led to a sudden dislike for magic across much of Augora, and soon the prevalnce of magic in Eckrean society became the source of hostilities between Eckre and neighboring territories. Within Eckre itself, a stigma against magi began to brew, growing the point of impending civil war. In response to this, the Eckrean kingdoms headed by Lark, called together the Anaian Council to discuss a governing body for magical arts. Lark's court magician, Paetred of Southriver was assigned as the first Magister, retiring from court and given rule over the new sovereign city-state of Ea Soleum.
Over time, the Anaian Clade's influence grew and international powers began to recognize its authority. By the year 38 Hound, the demand for Clade presence had grown too much for Ea Soleum to handle. The Anaian Clade established the Academic system as a response, founding buildings called Academies to serve as extensions across much of Eckre and North Atira. Two additional ranks were added to the Clade heirarchy, with Paetred taking the title of Grand Magister, and heads of each Academy being assigned that of High Magister. This structure has largely remained unchanged since.
