Mental characteristics

Personal history

Damian Novac was born on P'Onitt Island in the 2nd era on the 116th year with His Father and Mother. Damian's father, Joseph Novac, was a fisherman who supplied the Atonian army. And his mother, Fiona Novac, was a Cavalry veteran. Damian was a delinquent, but charismatic in his youth. He also loved the world of magic, and ran with the Terran kids. Damian admired his mother and the Atonian Cavalry, so much so that he desired to enlist when he was of age. But Joseph had other plans for Damian and wanted his son to continue the tradition to become a fisherman. Damian despised the thought of continuing the tradition. Once he was seventeen, Damian enlisted with the army; He left Nal Toch and his parents behind. Damian's charismatic personality helped him soar through the ranks of the army. The rank achieved before he was discharged was Secondary Marshal. After he left the army, Damian ran with a group of monster hunters when he was 22. They scoured the realms neighboring Ato for dangerous game; this lead the group to a large lair. The lair housed a deadly beast known as, the Yarla Drag. A dragon that was small, but could fire a quick burst of flame in the blink of an eye. The small group of hunters fought the Yarla Drag and succeeded with only two casualties of the ten. Damian, who had been initiated, killed one of the top dangerous creatures of the realms. After their victory, the group of hunters had their sights on far greater but deadlier game. Five years pass, and Damian was a professional hunter, hunting the most dangerous game. On the sixth year of his career, Damian retired from being a monster hunter and settled down with Cyla. Their forbidden love birthed a hybrid daughter of the Fire Terrans and Atonian races. Alas, their daughter had no magical ability, much like her mother. They named their daughter, Liliana. The forbidden lovers took refuge in the realm of Loxna, home to the Lonians. Damian took to becoming a fisherman, much like his father, for the Lonian Republic in Junqt City. One day, Damian was on a month-long trip with his company. He discovered a remarkable and magical artifact in the water. A thick book of magical origin. Damian took the book to his captain and they returned to Junqt City two weeks before their trip was to end. Upon further study, Damian figured it had descended from the Goddess Luna of the Ramshii. While reading the book, Damian gazed at the stars, with the book in-hand, and could read them with ease. Damian closed the book, and looked up again, but could not read the stars like before. The ship arrived at Junqt City and the crew went to the Council of Loxna to let them decide on what to do with the book. The Council of Loxna held their council on the ship that founded the book; They debated whether to return it or not. Damian stepped in and sided with the Councilor who had wished to return the book to the Ramshii Crown. The crew aligned with Damian and so did the rest of the Councilors. The duty of returning the book was underway, and the Council selected Damian to return the book. Nobody, outside of special guests, could enter the city limits of Eratos. Along their journey to Eratos, Damian and the Lonian guardsmen encountered a group of Sunari. This group of Sunari were known as the "Quintes Guard", and were planning to overthrow King Klein Maximus then destroy the Tower of Sol. Damian brought this discovery to King Klein, but paid little notion to the conspirators. The Council's guardsmen insisted that they continue on their journey, but Damian stubbornly pursued this conspiracy theory of this gang of conspirators. To Damian's surprise, he was correct in assuming that the conspirators were, indeed, attempting to overthrow King Klein and demolish Sol's Tower. Damian apprehended the Quintes Guard members and had incriminating evidence on their proposal to overthrow the King and destroy the Tower. The next morning, Damian was given a Sun-stone, an Honorary Medal meant for distinguished Generals and Soldiers of the Sunari Military by King Klein, and was deemed a Hero to the Kingdom and its people. After Damian received his rewards, he and the Council Guards were well on their way to Eratos. While the group made camp and rested in the Lio Forests, a magical man came walking to their site and requested audience with Damian. This man was known as "Fjord, the Great Magic Smith". Fjord asked Damian if he could see if he did indeed have the Lunar Guide, written by the First Luna. The Guide was revealed to the both of them as genuine, giving Fjord a sense of relief. Fjord asked Damian if he could accompany the group and assist if any problematic situations should arise along their path. Damian accepted Fjord's help while the Council appreciated the Ramshii Crown to send forward-help. The Council Guard, Damian and Fjord arrived in Eratos without any problems, and made haste to the Palace of King Polaris Isles. Damian asked Fjord if he had children or a significant other. Fjord told Damian that he did not, and did not plan on having a relationship while he still had duties to the Kingdom and its holdings. Damian understood Fjord's choice, and told him about the Terran wife and child he had back in Loxna. Fjord, who studied recent Atonian history, knew that marrying between those races was considered taboo and unorthodox. And those who did marry among the Terran population as an Atonian were shunned by their fellow brethren.  Fjord congratulated Damian for taking the first step to breaking the status quo with his decision to "taste the forbidden and taboo fruits". Damian and Fjord had a close friendship while the Guide was turned over to King Isles by the Lonian Council Guards. As the Council Guards finished their business with King Isles, they began their return journey while Damian decided to stay back with Fjord for a month and learn of Ramshii Culture as a special guest. The Council were reluctant in their decision to let Damian stay in Eratos, but they convinced themselves that he might learn something new that they previously were not aware of. During the time that Damian stayed with Fjord in His Keep of Magic, the curious Atonian learned many lessons and quirks about the world of spell-casting and of the different dangerous artifacts throughout the universe's lifetime. Damian requested that Fjord design and make him a magical mask. Fjord, hesitant about the idea, urged Damian to request another item to be made, but the Atonian remained determined on the magic mask. Fjord proceeded with designing the mask with the ability to sense and see Ether in the air. The ability to hear up to 2-miles away from where he was located. The ability to predict what a target was about to do based off of movement and actions. And the ability to sense illusions in front of him. The mask that Fjord crafted for Damian came to be known as "The Mask of the Hunter". Damian was grateful for Fjord's reward for returning the Lunar Guide, and left for Loxna to live His remaining days with Cyla and Liliana. One night while Damian and His family slept, Cyla was attacked in Her dream by a Skuuga. A terrible monstrosity that feasted on one's fear and terror in their dreams. Damian, Cyla and Liliana made their way to Eratos. Damian asked for Fjord's help, but he was nowhere to be seen or heard of. Even when Damian asked about Fjord by the guards, they shrugged off his questions. Something horrible happened to Fjord, but Damian did not know what, so he made his way to the Palace to ask King Isles where their Magic Smith was. But, Damian was rejected an audience with the King and escorted off the property of King Isles. While Damian and Cyla lounged in Fjord's Old Keep, Liliana was asleep in Fjord's Guest Room. Damian dawned his mask and searched through Fjord's library and work station when suddenly, Liliana screamed in terror as she thrashed in her sleep. Damian rushed to his daughter's aid and with the mask knew it was the Skuuga. Damian woke his daughter and held her tight as Cyla felt the presence of the nightmare and threw a torch at the wall. The Novac family left Fjord's Guest Room in isolation after they doused the fire and slept together in the study. Damian stood watch with his mask, reading books and scrolls on how-to forge his own weapons to combat magical beings. While the family had their uneasy rest for the night, the Ether door was opened. There, a woman stood thirty-feet from the family. It was Lunara, the second Luna. She approached the family, specifically to Damian, and asked of his services as a Monster Hunter. Damian accepted Her request, but reminded Lunara of his family. Lunara acknowledged Cyla and Liliana, and gave them protection in Eratos as she gave him a mission; Find Fjord. Damian was perplexed by her request, and did not know where to start. Lunara gave him a lead as to where to start and it was the Realm of Kuo. Damian said his goodbyes to Liliana and Cyla then made his way to the realm of Kuo. Shortly after arriving in the realm of Kuo, Damian donned his mask and knew right away that the tracks he saw in the sand off the beaten path, near invisible to the naked eye, were Fjord's. Damian followed these tracks, and eventually, made it to an abandoned tower. The tower's entrance had no door and looked like the tower crashed in on its self. Instead, it had an invisible Ether door. Damian shouted at the tower, but no answer, then he tried to touch the Ether door and was shocked when he barely went near it. Damian sat outside of the tower for three days and made a small camp at its base. On the fourth day, Damian was awoken by a light kick to his foot. This startled Damian and had him jump with the tent on his head. It was Fjord. They shared a laugh and Damian dressed himself then told Fjord how he had found his "hideout". Fjord was not surprised, and expanded on the topic while leading Damian inside of his abandoned tower. Fjord and Lunara knew of the monstrosities in the Dreamscape, but also knew that King Isles did not want to sour the "joyous" image of the other plain painted by N'uum so long ago. Damian asked Fjord what Lunara specifically wanted the two of them to do about these monstrosities. Fjord told Damian that it was rogue casters wanting to accelerate the coming of "Convergence", and that they had to stop them at all costs. Damian asked the important questions of "Where do they start," and "How will just the two of us do this?" Fjord answered both questions with simplicity. "We start here, and recruit as we go realm-to-realm." Then, Damian and Fjord started their Rogue-Magister and Monster Hunting. While the both of them recruited throughout the realms, they slowly gathered a following of people who were affected by magical beings, and were willing to face the terrors of the dark and Dreamscape. This group came to be known as "The Purifiers". After several hundred successful hunts, Damian came back from a dangerous hunt with six other members, Fjord included, and had dinner with his family; Cyla, Liliana and their newborn son, Leroy. But, later that night, in his sleep, Damian had a green fluid flowing from his mouth. The Corrla venom. The Corrla was a venomous creature that resembled a dog in physical form that extruded tentacles in a fight with a flower-like mouth. Damian had been scratched by the Corrla and caused its slow-acting venom to enter his bloodstream. Thus, Damian died of paralysis and a silent-seizure in his sleep. Damian went on in memory across the realms as a Legend for helping Loxna, Oxuran, Sune, and Ato.

Sexuality

Damian was as straight as a perfectly engraved letter "i". Damian always fancied Fire Terran women, for they reminded him of Atonian women. But, they had something different to them. And he loved that.

Education

Damian Novac did not have a formal education like the Upper-class citizens of Nal Toch, but instead, learned basic military knowledge, and how-to read from his mother, and basic mathematics and geometry from his father. Then at the age of 7, Damian attended a small, but decent boarding school for the youth in downtown Nal Toch. He reviewed basic mathematics in the school and improved his reading skills with advanced text reading while learning how to write in Atonian.

Employment

Damian Novac's first job was as an Infantryman in the Atonian Military, and he served for 5 years from when he was 17 years old to 22. His next job was as a Monster Hunter a week and a half after his discharge from the military; He went to hunt for 6 years until he was 28. Then Damian settled down as a Fisherman for a year and a half, and later was asked to deliver a special book to the Ramshii Crown. Just before His 30th birthday, Damian went back to being a Monster Hunter when he met Fjord once he made it safely to Eratos. From when he was 30 till his death at the age of 50, Damian lead a fulfilling 20-year career of Monster Hunting in cooperation with Fjord, protecting the Realms from different monsters and creatures from the Dreamscape and natural world.

Accomplishments & Achievements

At the age of 19, Damian achieved the rank of 'Field Officer' during His time in the Atonian Military as an Infantryman. Then at the age of 21, Damian achieved the rank of 'Marshal' after leading a successful campaign against the group of dissenters know as the "Queen's Resurrection".

Failures & Embarrassments

Damian felt embarrassed when he first fell in love with Cyla, a Fire Terran woman with no Ether. But, two months into their friendship, Damian did not care what His society thought of him then confessed to Cyla.

Morality & Philosophy

Damian Novac was an overall friendly person who aided those that needed it. Damian was raised with equality in his life and during his childhood, from hanging out with the Terran kids of Nal Toch. Damian had a special place for them in his heart; Especially the Fire Terran girls. They reminded Damian of Atonians, but they had an element of uniqueness to them. And Damian felt that Terrans and Atonians were already here [in the universe] for a reason. Maybe it was the inevitable cultural merging between their races? To lead to a stronger, single race? Or maybe it was destined that Cyla and Damian met, to challenge the status quo of Atonian and Terran societies? Damian did not know for sure, but one thing was certain. Cyla was Damian's greatest achievement, for he wanted to be with her and protect her at all costs. Then their daughter, Liliana, happened, and Damian's protective tendencies sky-rocketed. The first Hybrid-child of Atonian and Fire Terran was born. Alas, Damian and Cyla were not able to show their faces in Ato ever again, given their relationship. Damian felt that the Government, Monarchic, Democratic or Republican, should not be able to hold that much power over one's personal life and their marriage. It was absurd to Him. Thus, Damian told himself that they were to never return to Ato, even if it meant hiding His Atonian history from his children, and future generations of the Novac family.
