Atlas

Atlas is a world of steampunk pulp adventure. A world that is sitting on an uneasy ceasefire to a world war. A world caught in the aftermath of a barely averted apocalypse. A world of exploration for new lands, people, and resources. A world of lost history and treasure. A world of conspiracy and betrayal. A world of science and magic. A world of possibilities.   The world of Atlas became embroiled in a world war. The Great War. While it had many driving factors one of the main points was the discovery of a new archipelago to the southeast of the main continent. This land was rich in resources and new peoples not before heard of. In the race to colonize, the world erupted into chaos. This created many advances in magic and technology but, it also caused massive loss of life. This was not however the end to the chaos.   During the Great War, an unimaginable catastrophe happened. The world grew dark and maddening entities came to the world. This chaos killed many more on top of the war, and wiped entire cities and populations off the map. Then this chaos passed. Howerver some of the new evils remained. In light of this tragedy the ruling nations decided to call a ceasefire, in order to begin rebuilding and healing their people and land. Unfortunately, the nations of Atlas still have lingering hatreds simmering beneath the surface. War could come again at any moment as countries jockey for position amongst each other. This is the world of Atlas.   Many of the names, places, people, and ideas come from many different games, movies, tv shows, comics, anime, cartoons, and books. They are stitched together here to hopefully form a mostly cohesive setting in which my groups games are set.
