Borders of Blood

Though many nations have come to rise and fall throughout the history of Athunis, today there stands seventeen. Each as different as can be, and yet, connected though a shared bit of history. While the Rapture laid waste to much of the world and those that inhabited it, this catastrophe laid the groundwork for the world as we know it today...allowing it to blossom.
Not all was lost from those times, as you might assume. The shifting of the world itself and the formation of new land masses allowed a fresh start for those that survived. And though the struggles suffered during the Era of Nothingness were strenuous, the mortal soul persevere. The cultures of our ancestors melded together to form an alloy of sorts across every corner of Athunis. These cultures can be seen in every nation of the world, unique in some ways yet similar in most. And while there are many that hold their nationality in high regard, at the end of the day we are all Athunians.
