Dragon

Dragons were the first sentient race to appear on land. They evolved from leviathans who left the seas to settle land. They are among the most intelligent and proudest species in the world. They were the first to invent written language and document events, marking the start of recorded history. Indeed, the Common Era began when dragons began marking the passage of time. Having an early start on civilization, much of the second age was dominated by conflicts among and aggressive invasions by dragons while other species were still trying to gain a foothold in the world.

It is thought by some that the founding of Darkwater by the Leviathans, taking place some thousands of years into their existence, was prompted by the growing power of The Dragon King and his followers, which the Leviathans saw as a threat to their dominance.
