Glimmerwood

As you follow the Deus River northward, you notice the gradual shift in scenery. Dull greens make way for vibrant verdure. Clear waters turn crystalline blue. Birdsong floats on the sweet smelling air. Gorgeous swathes of wildflowers in all imaginable colours carpet clearings, interrupted only by rings of mushrooms. Creatures scurry about in the undergrowth, keeping a curious eye upon those travelling through. As dusk falls, the darkening forest is gently lit by fireflies which cling to the boughs of gently swaying trees. Animal calls echo out but the ominous atmosphere you have come to expect from the wilderness at night is lost. The forest is peaceful and reassuring.

Geography

The Deus River flows through Glimmerwood, diverting off into various streams and ponds.

Fauna & Flora

Various woodland creatures inhabit the forests as well as the occasional unicorn. Exotic herbs and flowers for alchemical purposes can be found here, although a trained eye is needed to identify what is toxic.

Natural Resources

The timber from the trees here is rumoured to possess magical qualities, but none dare to harvest it for fear of retaliation from the elves, firbolgs, and dryads that live there.
