Session 27: Information Gathering

The party joined the Fimn delegation upon their arrival to Gacade. The party mingled with the retinue and made first impressions. After departing the party began information gathering. 
They heard a rumor that Kel Fir Fillo changed his name upon having a vision, and  by the time they arrived in Sorin to layover awaiting upgraded ships they learned that Cyrus Daly has fairly regular clandestine meetings with Kel Fir Fillo and Celia Granger.
The delegation arrived at a small port town and traveled about an hour inland to Sorin. They traveled into the large city surrounded by a circular wall, noting a tall white tower making up its skyline. The delegation traveled down main street arriving at an ostentatious castle. Most of the retinue stayed in a nearby upper-class inn in the vineyard district, however Sebastian managed to get himself servants quarters in the castle itself.
Efferil learned by speaking with servants, and buttering them up with cookies first, that Jocelynn Tychon had been reclusive for the majority of their journey thus far, rarely leaving her cabin.

Meanwhile, Sebastian chatted with Kallin Daly near the castle's indoor pool with lily pads. To his surprise Kallin recognized Sebastian (as Matthew) from Silver Mine. Sebastian learned that Kallin failed to find the escaped convicts responsible for the damage in Silver Mine and that he didn't recover the ritual book from Herald's Mountain. When asked about the delegations mission Kallin gave some platitude about peace in the realm, which Sebastian inferred as him not really wanting to be there. Flirting ensued.
The party met up in a restaurant in the vineyard district where they discussed sexuality and had rhubarb pie for desert. Sebastian then wandered the castle for a while before finding Kallin's quarters in the rear tower on the third floor and learning that he's good in bed. Once his partner was asleep Sebastian casted silence and investigated the room. He found correspondence between Kallin and his sister Kuvira Daly where Kallin mentions his concern about his 'birth right'. Sebastian also noted what appeared to be a painting wrapped in brown paper leaned against a dresser in the room.
The delegation returned to the port town and boarded the a trio of ships. There was a large war ship and a pair of smaller ships designed for aesthetics. An older halfling woman with leathery skin named Jowelyn, who also works for Dedric, also boarded the ships.
Efferil used ginger cookies as an in to have discussions with Jocelynn Tychon. While in her quarters he noted a long red/black marbled case, and got her talking about magic, specifically conjuration once. Sebastian got the crew singing sea shanties as a noise barrier to turn invisible and listen into one of Cyrus Daly's and Kel Fir Fillo's clandestine meetings. The bits he heard sounded like a debrief of recent events with 'Hindsight' repeatedly being referred to as a proper noun.
Sebastian later had a conversation with Jowelyn where she relayed that Jocelynn studied magic with 'the Drishoowl girl'. He then had a conversation with Pieray Treachia’lambur who is well liked among his retinue and gave off 'dad-in-back' vibes. He's in the delegation for his trade ties and strong knowledge of mercantile policy.
