Civilization and Culture

Major Language Groups and Dialects

All Halflings speak what is called 'Druidic' by the other races. For the rare Halflings found in cities, they may also speak Common - despite common Halfling opinion that it is crudely un-poetic in nature.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Halflings of different tribes still  share a tradition of song, art and poetry, which serves as a basis of communication. Creatures that do not know these cultural expressions are often at a loss to understand their references, analogies, and allusions. Halflings  can  easily  become  frustrated with such “uncultured” creatures.   Halflings  are  extremely  conscious  of  their  environment. They are sickened by the ruined landscape of Tyr region and desperately try to avoid having similar devastation occur to their homelands in the Forest Ridge.    Halflings abhor slavery, and most will starve themselves rather than accept it.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Most Halflings are very xenophobic and vicious cannibals. Rarely will Halflings leave their tribes of their own accord. Those in city-states are usually slaves.
