Stewpot Magic

Written by orphidor

This variety of magic is one of the safest, but it still comes with risks. It's commonly used by those who prefer enchanting and potion-making. It involves the use of herbs and rituals to instill magic within items of food or elixirs, intended to cause beneficial effects in whoever ingests them.

Effect

Spells cast through this method of magic typically involve layering enchantments for healing or strengthening effects, such as relief from a disease or the tempering of a person's body to be more vigorous. Using stewpot magic, Zeheda Pirshala has discovered a way to alter a person's body to give them characteristics of their preferred gender if, at birth, they were assigned a gender they don't identify with.

Side/Secondary Effects

The most common type of unintended effect is wayward enchantments. These may range from things like a person's skin turning purple for a few hours to full-blown curses affecting somebody's facets of consciousness. Depending on the potency of the spell being attempted and the amount of experience a mage has, the side effects encompass a variety of results and intensities.
