Atare, the World with No Future

One of the most common features of an adventuring world is its great and storied history, full of events both ancient and recent. However, what if that history were in and of itself an adventure? What if you could walk into a room at the center of an ancient, ruined castle, and walk out into a construction site for the brand new castle some guy wanted placed here? What if Time Itself was traversible, just as easily as the land or the great sea? In this world, due to a terrible disaster far in the past and fated in the future, time is mutable. A skilled manipulator can plant a seed and watch it grow into a colossal tree in seconds, or bring a raging war to a standstill with a thought. Gateways, both stable and decidedly unstable, serve as quick passage from the ancient past to the far future, and to every when in-between. The world is home to two notable alternate realities, the Realm of Dreams and the Realm of Shades. The degree to which both realms encompass the world and coat it protects reality from feeling the true effects of the Rending, a terrible event which directly lead to the current state of Time.
