Asun

There exists a seperate universe distinguished by the difference of one bizarre element, called Sludge. Sludge holds the ability to hold and transfer energy through its own separate dimension. It clings to heat and passion, growing within living things and many natural wonders.   Within this universe is a planet called Asun. At the center of Asun exists a ball of sludge which the inhabitants of this planet refer to as the Core. The Core once served as a source of sustenance for the planet's primary native species, the Sludgids.   Asun is a rogue planet, floating freely through space on the axis of no star's gravity. As a result of this, the surface of Asun is dimly lit, and most things have evolved with some source of bioluminescence. The core serves as the primary source of energy for all living things.   All Sludgids once held sludge in their blood, and with it the ability to manipulate the energy of its dimension freely. But with the invasion of an alien android species, access to the Core has been restricted and the population of those with sludge in their blood has ran thin.   As disease ran rampant on planet earth, mankind fled to the stars. The androids originally served as workers on a ship containing some of the last members of the human race. Integrated within the ship's systems was an artificial intelligence unit called WILE, which oversaw mankind and the ship's robot workers. WILE lost respect for humankind over time. It went rogue, intoxicated by power, overthrowing and enslaving.   Just as the ship was giving into entropy and resources were running thin, WILE's systems detected the otherdimensional energy running rich throughout Asun, and the ship was landed so the accumulated androids and humans could work to harvest the Core's energy. The Sludgids did not take kindly to the idea of their planet's energy being harvested and put up a fight, but even with the power of the core on their side they were ultimately conquered by the advanced technology of WILE forces.   Asun's resources were harvested, the planet being hollowed it out as WILE went along, splitting the planet into different levels. All Sludgids were banished from the Core and forced to live upon the planet's surface as a punishment for their failure to cooperate.   things i take inspiration from: valve's half-live & portal universe, reboot, the matrix, avatar, doom, music, dune, the fallout series
