White Hart

"I swear I once hand fed a White Hart when I was a wee lass."

Deep in the woods of the Emerald Forests, an elusive creature prances between the trees. It is called the White Hart.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The white hart is a large and majestic creature with a beautiful fur as white as snow. It stands on four hoofed legs at a shoulder height of 2.5 meters and reaches a length of 3 meters from face to tail. The neck of the white hart is thick and bushy, making it sometimes look like it doesn't have a neck at all. On its head stands an impressive rack of broad-crowned antlers which are almost 1 meter in size. These antlers give off a soft moonlight-like glow at night. The females are slightly thinner and smaller than the males but bear racks of a similar size.

Additional Information

Social Structure

White harts life solitaire lives, only coming together once a year during mating season. During this mating season the males compete with each other for the attention of the females. Male white harts don't fight, but instead increase the glow of their antlers until one scares off the other, after which the winter mates with his new partners.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Hunters who have encountered the White Hart tell stories of how they suddenly appear in the middle of a thick mist in the distance. There it just stands and stares at them until the approach it, after which it turns and sprints of into the thicket again. Because of this white harts are notoriously difficult to hunt, but those hunters who manage to capture one will eat like kings. However those who hope to create a trophy out of the creature's antlers are out of luck, as their antlers quickly turn to dust after they die. If one is quick enough to collect this dust before the winds scatter it will find themselves in the possession of one of the most potent fertilisers known to man.
