Magpie

"Quardle oodle doodle!" went the magpie. The druid turned to his companions and whispered in a frightful tone: "Run"

The Magpie is a black and white songbird infamous for its aggressive behaviour. They can create a fast array of sounds creating unique calls, which they use to attract mates and mark their territory. When a humanoid ignores its warning song and enters it territory it can expect to be swooped and attacked by the bird. Unlike most songbirds the magpie can actually walk instead of hop over the ground using its long legs.   The magpie is often seen as either a stalwart defender of its homeland or as aggressive bully, which has led to both guards and bandits from the same territory using it as their symbol. The magpie is also believed to awaken the sun with its call, and is seen as a symbol for the new dawn.
