Xiabo Hashida - AWs

Co-leader of the Golden Basilisks Xiabo Hashida (a.k.a. Reaper's Blade)

Xiabo Hashida was a daring performer turned legendary guild leader, known for his unmatched precision in battle and unwavering dedication to his comrades. Inspired by the Adamantine Guardians of Valford, Xiabo spent his youth striving to become a hero. A near-death experience during a stunt changed his life forever, binding him to Kelemvor, the god of death. From that moment, he became Kelemvor’s blade, operating from the shadows to dismantle dangerous cults, slay enemy commanders, and protect the balance of the realm. Xiabo’s tactical mind and relentless spirit led him to co-lead the Golden Basilisks and eventually become a rumored member of the secretive Shaded Orchids. His legacy is felt across Astrium as a champion of safety, structure, and balance. Xiabo passed away peacefully at the age of 79, remembered as a hero.   Xiabo Hashida’s story is one of transformation—from reckless performer to devoted protector, from a man who sought fame to one who quietly shaped the fate of Astrium from the shadows. His dedication to his guild, his god, and his principles left ripples throughout the realm. He taught others that true strength is not in standing alone, but in standing with others and ensuring no one is ever left behind. His memory endures not as a grand statue but in the policies, lives, and stories he helped preserve.
Xiabo grew up in the city of Valford, hearing the tales of Valford Adamantine Guardians; a group of random adventurers who saved the previous emperor many times throughout their time. He vowed to be just like those heroes and while he trained his body to their limits. Wanting to test his limits he set out as part of a travelling troupe completing death defying stunts and feats throughout the land.     One day an act went wrong and he was sent falling to his death off an ill-fitted tightrope. A voice spoke to Xiabo – wanting him to use his talents for something far more significant than his party tricks. He was offered to work for the god of death – Kelemvor. Xiabo, not wanting to die, accepted.   He came to a few hours later left on the side of the road having cheated death, he couldn’t shake the feeling of whispers in his head hearing the voices of people that have long passed. Kelemvor’s vision told him to head to Lustrum to seek out a copper basilisk. Travelling to Lustrum he was asked about a brown basilisk; he was offered to go to the guild hall who might have information. He discovered the copper basilisks was the name of the guild, he signed up and was placed with the only team that was being made at the moment – a gnome, a dwarf and a warforged.   His expertise attacking while being hidden gave him the name “Reaper’s Blade”. Throughout their travels and after surviving the airship crash which killed their comrade, he was asked to investigate an apparent cult luring desert travelers away and into a series of underground caverns.   Xiabo was captured when investigating the lead of his cult, being captured by the leader of the Brotherhood of Terra - Rayalan, the Sovereign Terra. Through experimentation his right arm was replaced with a mecurial metal that changed into any weapon he desired. While not fully finshed being experimented on he was rescued by the Archwardens during their raid on the Nautiloid hiddden under Astrium.   Xiabo was sidelined for a little amount of time, but joined the guild's council to help make decisions and was instrumental in implementing 3 rules for the guild in times of crisis - recall chips for retreating quickly; 2 people on every mission minimun so noone gets caught unaware; and 5 people cells to break provide additional support and tactical benefits with the growing threats of Astrium.   Xiabo and the End of Ocean cell group had been instrumental in going behind enemy lines and taking out the some of the commanders of the overseers army. After those events, Xiabo became a shared guild leader role with his cell for the Golden Basilisks and was a rumoured member of the shaded orchids, a mythical group known for keeping balance in the realm.   Xiabo died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 79.
