Nullspire
Nullspire appeared when the events of planar transposition swapped Wayshore with Asthrysis. As a way of countering the transposition between planes, as it was only speading inlland in a thin speading spearhead. To combat this near the surging plains an obelisk of anti-magic created by a multitude of factions to prevent the gains of the blurscape.
The Nullspire Obelisk
In the heart of the Blurscape, where the ever-shifting reality creates a dreamlike, hazy landscape, stands the Nullspire Obelisk—a towering monument of unknown origin that projects a powerful anti-magic field across the surrounding area. Unlike most features of the Blurscape, which appear fluid and mutable, the Nullspire remains unchanging, its smooth, obsidian-like surface absorbing any light that touches it.
The Nullspire Obelisk radiates an aura of stillness in the midst of the Blurscape's constant flux. It stands as a stark contrast to the chaotic surroundings, where space, time, and perception seem to blend and distort. Anyone who steps into the area surrounding the Nullspire finds their magical abilities completely negated, as spells fizzle out, magical items fall inert, and even innate powers are suppressed. This effect extends far beyond the visible obelisk, making it a haven for those seeking refuge from magical threats or those wishing to avoid detection by magical means.
Notable Features of the Nullspire Obelisk:
The Null Zone
The anti-magic field extends in a perfect sphere around the Nullspire, creating a "Null Zone" where no magic, illusion, or fey influence can penetrate. Even the strange distortions of the Blurscape seem to be held at bay in this zone, creating a small pocket of normality in the midst of the surreal landscape. It’s said that powerful artifacts or even fey beings themselves have been hidden within the Null Zone, unable to be retrieved due to the lack of magical power.
The Silent Guard
A mysterious order known as the Silent Guard patrols the perimeter of the Nullspire. These figures are said to be immune to the effects of the Blurscape and wear armor that resonates with the obelisk's anti-magic field. The Silent Guard is rumored to protect something hidden within the Nullspire, but their true purpose remains a mystery. Some believe they are remnants of an ancient faction who built the obelisk to counter the reality-warping power of the Blurscape.
The Void Well
At the base of the Nullspire is a deep, circular well known as the Void Well. It is believed that the anti-magic properties of the obelisk are amplified by whatever lies at the bottom of the well. Attempts to investigate have all ended in failure, as any technological or magical means of descending into the well are immediately rendered useless by the obelisk's power. Adventurers and scholars have speculated that an ancient relic or planar rift lies hidden at its core, responsible for the Nullspire's intense aura.
The Nullward Stones
Surrounding the Nullspire Obelisk are clusters of Nullward Stones, strange, rune-covered rocks that pulse with a faint, non-magical energy. These stones seem to reinforce the anti-magic field, and some believe that their placement forms a protective grid that sustains the Nullspire’s power. Attempts to move or alter these stones are met with resistance from the Silent Guard, and those who disturb the stones often experience strange effects as they exit the Null Zone, such as lapses in memory or momentary disorientation.
The Nullspire Obelisk is a paradoxical sanctuary in the chaotic Blurscape, a place where the forces of magic are completely negated. Its purpose and origins remain a mystery, but its presence offers safety—and danger—in equal measure for those who seek to understand its secrets or hide within its anti-magical shadow.
