The Draconic Unity Festival is a grand celebration among the Dragonborn of Urdrus, honoring the rich diversity of their lineage, including chromatic, metallic, and gem dragon subtypes. Taking place during the first full moon of the year, this festival symbolizes renewal, strength, and the unity of all Dragonborn under the shared heritage of their draconic ancestors.
Celebration Details:
Opening Ceremony:
The festivities begin at dawn with a ceremonial gathering in the central plaza of Urdrus. Elders and leaders, adorned in ceremonial robes representing their dragon type—be it chromatic, metallic, or gem—deliver speeches emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation among the different subtypes. The lighting of the "Eternal Flame," a large bonfire representing the collective spirit of all dragons, marks the official start of the celebration.
Unity Parade:
Following the opening ceremony, a vibrant parade showcases the diversity of the Dragonborn. Floats representing each dragon type—red, blue, green, black, white (chromatic gold, silver, bronze, copper, and brass (metallic and crystal, sapphire, emerald, and amethyst (gem)—move through the streets. Dragonborn of all ages don costumes that reflect their chosen lineage, adorned with shimmering scales, vibrant colors, and intricate designs that celebrate their unique heritage.
Ancestral Tributes:
In the afternoon, families visit sacred sites dedicated to their ancestors. History
The dragonborn are the earliest humanoid to live in astrium as they were born from the dragons that had lead over the land during the fall of the age of green and the rise of the age of dragons. They have ensured the protection of the dragons from threats outside of their hoardes in the land they originally lorded over their respective territories.
Throughout history many dragonborn have been at the centre of conflicts that the dragons have determined as a necessary threat.
After the fall of the leaders of the chromatic dragons - the prismatic parliament - were sealed away in the year 500BD; the metallic dragons and gem dragons all moved into hiding to avoid teh same fate, and the dragonborn were left unguided. The set up down the bottom of Astrium where they were able to build a defensible position, where they haved turned their skills of smithing and artisan tools among their defensive skills. They have worked a long time running the council of astrium to ensure that the land is run as smoothly as when the dragons had lead the law.
Their city Urdrus which is draconic for "order" stands today as it did over 1000 years ago.
