The city's chief leader, known as the Forgewarden, is elected from among the council and serves a ten-year term. The current Forgewarden is Drockgar Dankil.

History
Brightgorge was first mined out the obsidian vertice by the mountain dwarves after Realmshatter was destroyed by the Sins. With the Dankil clan at the helm the Mountain Dwarves stumbled upon a giant cavern that held an array of algae that lit up around what could only be defined as a craggy and fortified.
The Dankil Clan worked tirelessly to build the cavern into a city, dubbing the city Brightcavern. During the clearing out of the cavern, a well placed strike caused the middle of the cavern to reveal the depths below, causing it to be renamed Brightgorge.
Today, Brighgorge is the pinnacle of stonemasonry creating stone fixtures that hold electric and light fixtures as the world ventures into a new age
