Bardryn Goldhelm - Dwarf Bladesinger Wizard
Co-Leader of Golden Basilisks Bardryn Goldhelm (a.k.a. Shadow Diplomat)
Bardryn Goldhelm is a dwarven noble turned arcane warrior who shattered cultural boundaries to become the first non-elven Bladesinger in Astrium. Once a staunch traditionalist of Brightgorge nobility, the loss of her brother Gronoki forced Bardryn to reevaluate her views on diplomacy and connection with other peoples. Her path of transformation led her across Ofrana and into the elven city of Cyankadi, where she embraced the art of the Bladesong. As a founding member of the Golden Basilisks, she led daring operations that elevated the guild from obscurity to renown. After enduring betrayal, manipulation, and redemption during the rise of the Overseer and the infiltration of the Order of Zephyr, Bardryn emerged as a battle-tested commander and arcane tactician. Today, she co-leads one of the most elite guilds in Astrium, shaping its legacy with wisdom, steel, and magic.
Bardryn Goldhelm once stood as a wall between her people and the world, but through loss, revelation, and hard-won trust, she became a bridge instead. Her tale is one of cultural transformation and the forging of new traditions from old steel. Where once she saw difference as division, she now sees it as the foundation of strength. Through her leadership of the Golden Basilisks, Bardryn ensures that the fires of courage, honor, and unity never fade in Astrium.
Bardryn Goldhelm was a noble of one of the houses of Brightgorge. She and her brother Gronoki, were often at odds with each other about the kindness that should be extended as nobles to other races. Gronoki thought the diplomacy should extend to others while Bardryn was an old soul wanting to keep the diplomatic goings-on with just the dwarfs. After an attack by earth elementals and xorns had ended in the loss of her brother, she wondered if the kindness was extended to other races if they may have come to aid. She decided to become more like her brother Gronoki, travelling to many locations around Ofrana. She travelled through the Riparian wetlands to the ruined city fo Talvos where she stumbled upon an amazing site, an ancient old wizard dancing while wielding blades. She wanted to learn that style of elegant fighting, where being a noble the elf accepted to teach her the secrets of blade singing. She studied hard and made a name as the first non-elven Bladesinger. She decided to leave the nobility to behind for a time and adventure opting to join one of the lower ranking guilds – the Copper Basilisks. She signed up and was placed in a team with the only signups at the time; a human called Xiabo, a gnome called reddlepop and a warforged called Salvager. They went on many missions together and were responsible for the guilds turn-around, promoting the guilds rank from copper all the way to Gold – renaming the guild the Golden Basilisks. She had earned herself the name “Shadow Diplomat” The guild sent them on more and more dangerous missions each time returning; however, one mission was to recover an airship and go undercover as the ship’s crew to investigate the disappearances of air ships travelling from Ostborough over the barren expanse. The airship was attacked and crashed despite their efforts and a group of 4 people who displayed their own talents. To keep the airship operating long enough to get most people off, their companion Salvager sacrificed themselves in order to keep the engine running long enough for most people to get off safely. They travelled back to Lustrum on foot where the individuals they had met on the ship told them about a sole member of the guild – an elf called who was looking to join a new team since their team was lost to the depths. They were given a mission to investigate the cults the new members of the special ops group – the Plane wardens had talked about. Bardryn was tasked with investigating the order of Zephyr. Bardryn was investigating a floating castle in the sky, where she was discovered and experiments on being used agaist the Planewardens and the guild. During Libra's attack on the Stormlords Temple; Bardryn attempted to overthrow the Archwardens by using her magical might as a bladesinger, however she was saved and her mind was retured to her. Bardryn lead a group of mages during the overseers final assault. She was able to lead an explosive force that overwhelmed the beasts and drove the majority back. Today Bardryn one of the co-leaders of the Golden Baslisks Guild Hall, helping maintain its status as one of the best guild in Astrium.
