While magic is a rare gift, Astria is lucky in that it is not a vital one. The combined ingenuity of our peoples has given us the tools necessary to protect our society and even thrive despite the harsh conditions our world has challenged us with. Indeed, it might even be said that the Umbra is responsible, at least in part, for the luxuries we enjoy today.
Welcome to Astria, a low-magic fantasy steampunk setting designed for Pathfinder 2e! Every four years the world is plunged into a year-long darkness and the creatures of the Umbra are free to roam the surface. The people of Astria have adapted admirably, even as magic fades from the world in the wake of growing industry, and the Dark Years are no longer the death knell of developing civilizations. Even so, the darkness brings numerous opportunities for airship pirates, monster hunters, daring inventors, and adventurers of all interests.
