Personal history

| Sometimes it is better to not know the whole truth of one's origin, for the purpose of this character I have left out important details of his private life he would have gone through great lengths to hide. All of the following is likely public knowledge or information the players could have picked up on if they lived in or around Nisiar for long. |   I, Belshazzir Yaewehn, grew up in the simple student lifestyle much alike many other Nisiaran youths do. I was proficient in many fields of expertise in the academy, namely lore of ancient stories, music, and expression magics. Throughout my youth many Axilians have commented on my silver tongue. More often than not I have been able to talk my way out of trouble or sticky situations, either with a clever spell or negotiation. In my spare time I practice playing my Dulcimer and tell stories of time long forgotten. All you need to know about my private life is that it was simple, and I'd never ask for anything else.   Hardly age 27, many Nisiaran officials recognized my diplomatic abilities. I would eventually get hired on as both a minor lorekeeper and a foreign diplomat for the court, becoming a public official myself. All this work has kept me away from my family for a very long time, but I still personally believe they fare better without me there anyways. Around age 34 some large tribe of Umelethians began threatening the city, preparing to go to war once more over trivial matters. They were fervent followers of Rhaes and seeked to exact their revenge for the crimes done in the past and the humiliating defeats their people had suffered centuries ago. I was eventually chosen as a diplomatic envoy to talk them out of their own death.   Many courtly officials who followed me were left in awe by my ability to de-escalate the situation. Many more so that I was able to talk at length with the Umelethians about their history in great detail. Not only had I calmed them and changed their mind about war and Rhaes, I had brokered a trade agreement between Nisiar and them. Many officials were so shocked by how well the event went that Krisqirelle herself promoted me to the position of Ambassador and High Lorekeeper of Nisiar.   Whenever we needed someone to contact either of the other two Acoran provinces or the Drovinu Paricalinus I was the one who was sent. I would often disguise myself on trips to the Drovinu Pericalinus, ensuring I was never harassed or attacked for being mixed race. I was also the one often sent to talk with ambassadors from the Klif Company. While I was still in office I would help many Laelonic refugees adjust to their life in Nisiar as well as distract witch hunts that would occasionally stretch outside of Laelon’s territory. Many Laelonic officials dislike me for my ability to derail their hunts or dissuade them from entering the Nisiar Desert to collect escapees. To some of Nisiar I have been hailed a hero, but to most I’ve simply done my job. I much prefer the latter, as I do not need unnecessary attention drawn to myself anyways. While still in office I did try my best to ensure as many refugees could enter the city as possible.   Entering my early sixties I was growing bored of Nisiaran politics, I realized that despite my natural talents and work ethic my position had stagnated in Nisiar. While Krisqirelle herself had promoted me initially there wasn’t much more opportunity left for me in the city. I had amassed enough wealth for myself and grown tired of court life. All the stories I’d read about and my inability to find a cure for Laecia in Nisiar drove me to wanderlust. So I spent much of my savings on gear and bought myself a small house in Nisiar. Valyndre’s family offered to pay my taxes for me so long as I continued to support them and watch out for Valyndre. Upon quitting my job, much to the irritation of our Grand Magus, I was contacted by the leader of the Klif Company himself. The Red Fox was a man I’d heard so much about, though nothing explained his origins or his ability to talk. It was as if there was a bit of me in him, or he knew exactly how to speak with me and knew who I really was. Kasvaar invited me to join his ragtag team of mercenaries, and being out of a job I wasn’t really in a position to refuse. This was essentially exactly what I wanted anyways.   I joined the Klif company, and have been with them for at least 4 years. Kasvaar and I have become as close as we can be. We seem to understand one another quite well and respect each other's wishes to keep our pasts private from one-another. I asked him to find a cure for Laecia for me, though he hasn’t found much to help yet I am hopeful that he can. Ever since joining I have been sent to be the Klif Company’s primary diplomat. I bring the jobs to the company and am the one who usually meets with the nobles of the other provinces.

Belshazzir worked in the courts of Nisiar for nearly a century, earning political repute and sway in the local government. He would eventually succumb to wanderlust however, and seek other opportunities outside the city. Now he works with the Klif Co.
