Last Job

Cronk o' Dar's last job as a mercenary working for The Gutter Snakes which drove him to warn and confront Dart about Driver's true motives.

A hypocrite, through and through

The mission itself, like all other missions provided by Driver, gave out no extra information about the targets to the mercs assigned to it. As long as the mercs accept this as a normal practice, this allows for Driver to force them to do practically any job without any moral objections which would get in the way of earning as much money as possible.
His directions were simple. He just had to take them out from afar, and to leave the scene with no trace. Through a small window in a rusty metal shack, Cronk only saw the silhouetted figure of his mark, who seemed to be scoping out Two Fang itself. This was cut short, when Cronk's bullet made its way clean through their head. She was an unfamiliar-looking warforged named @pipes, who was actually a former resident and "Gutter Rat" of Two Fang. Judging by his surroundings and her personal documents, Cronk finds out that Pipes was a freedom fighter type as well, who had left Two Fang in pursuit of a way to undermine The Gutter Snakes and free her fellow Gutter Rats of their nigh inescapable situation. Having already been suspicious of The Gutter Snakes by this point, Cronk thoroughly reads through her notes for her insight as someone who has lived through the worst parts of being in Two Fang.
Stunned with this revelation, Cronk takes a moment to try to understand what he had just done. With the assassination of a former comrade and fellow warforged weighing heavily on his mind, he gathers his thoughts and rushes back to Dart. With the spirit of rebellion and hatred of Driver incited within him, Cronk pleads for Dart to come to his senses and understand what Driver is really doing to Two Fang's people. Dart does not see eye-to-eye with Cronk and refuses to comply with him. Stunned by this revelation, Cronk is convinced that Driver must have manipulated something behind the scenes to make this happen-- and rushes home to Dart, to warn him and come up with a plan. However, when Cronk relayed to Dart the atrocity, seeking comfort and reassurance, Dart is unable to lie to him any longer and shut him down, finally revealing in full honesty that he conspired with Driver for Cronk, his most trusted friend, to assassinate Pipes without ever knowing who she was. Dart showed remorse and tried to get him back on his side, but Cronk was far too horrified by the betrayal. Their argument ended in tears, with Dart feeling immense guilt and Cronk scornfully leaving him.
