MI, the command

Mi is will, Mi is a thought out the head. Mi gives no form or time, it gives purpose, and on that purpose, Mi gives magic life. Mi is the chant of casting and creating, Mi it´s a flame with a target.

Effect

Mi gives the flame easy orders that it will follow. Mi gives commands for the flame to be carried on. It´s the magic of the automaths, the magic of pyromancers and sharpshooters. Mi gives the magic direction, purpose. Orders are to be simple, phrase like. "Go ahead" order implies the flame just moving ahead form the caster, "Walk" implies that the flame has to move a mechanism to reproduce a walking motion, has to been given a pathing, exceptions, rules on movement; hundreds of little order sumarized in the one simple "walk", wich will take quite a while to create. There are also preorders, orders learnt and practiced to cause an effect such as "fireball", which will cause the flame to take spherical form, concentrate and respond with acceleration to a throwing.

Side/Secondary Effects

Mi it´s one of the more complex magics of the Blue, and as such, it can be exhausting to use. Orders require time and practice to carry on, and most are very simple if quickly needed, or quit long to arm for more complex dictates. Mi gives the life a will, a will subordinated to an order, but an independent will. Flame stops being under the mage control, an so on, will carry its tasks quite literally, backfiring if the caster lacks expertise. Mi requires also lots of attention of the caster, so, in the middle of the battle, it can lead to the chanter missing their surrondings when lost in its target and spelling.

Manifestation

Mi echoes the previous chanting upon being cast. It also puts red flames inside the blue of the controled flame.

Discovery

Mi was the most recent finding in blue magic, counting less than 200 years. It´s discovery and developmente by the azul mage (//) lead to a magical and industrial revolution that hinted the start of era Trigemina.

It´s up to every mage quirks, but being as it is the most cerebral and introspective chanting, the main gesture for Mi is staring at the flame that is being given the order.

Effect Duration

With no further addition, Mi lasts as long as it takes for the order/task to be fullfiled or the flame to vanish, on long time castings.

Effect Casting Time

Most variable. For experts on order fighting, with predetermined casting orders, it´s half a second to go on, for mechanists and such, it can take hours, even days, to achieve the necessary precision.

Range

Close range since the source, limit at about half a meter.

Level

Third level chant: Metamagic. Only a handful of mages get to this level, after long years of acomplished study.

Applied Restriction

Mi is exclusive with Re; both can never be learnt by the same person. No fire charge, no Mi. Mi is usually disposed for everyday mechanisms, automaths and the kind. Tampering with them outside the legal jurisdiction it´s highly persecuted. One flame can have only one order, no matter complexity. For example "Walk and defend" won´t be one order, but two separated ones ("walk" and "defend"), each with great complexity, and as such, the automath will need two flames at least to operate. Only the flame can be affected by orders: even when mages have some flame on them, they can´t be affected by Mi orders. Once an order is given to a flame, it can´t be overwriten. Impossible feats are out of the Mi capabilites, such as transmutation, or just anything that requires more energy than the ordered flame has. You can order a flame to "kill my boss", but it will not create a unstoppable flame devoted to assasination, just a fireball with a general direction that may disapear without acomplishing the order. The flame doesn´t understand the especifics of such order, just direction, target, form and will.
