LA, the darkness

La it´s a solid song, a chant that gives form, and essence. La it´s the song of dark, it´s a song that makes flame tangible. It´s the chant of the creation, the sealing, the forge. And the song more related to echoes.

Effect

La makes the flame solid, tangible, iron hard. It´s up to mage and spell if it takes the form of a obsidian sword, a flaming edge, a hard hitting whip or a grasping giant hand, for example, but it will always be solid, hard, and short reached.

Side/Secondary Effects

La dangers come from inexpertice, mostly. It´s highly related to presure, tension, hardness, and it can make a inexpert chanter grumpy and suspicious. It can active instinctively as a result of rage or desperation, wich can led to fatal accidents over a little discusion. For last, it´s duration, like with every magic, it´s related to the flame charge, and a shortage of it, or a dispelling can hit harder a La chanter than most other, rendering them unarmed or undefended on the worst of times.

Manifestation

La turns the flame in a fluctuating, dark, solid stream, be as hard of steel or flexible as a tentacle, but everytime the same solid. It´s use it´s announced but a short, ominous musical cue, a grave note piano like sostenuto.

Discovery

La it´s one of the very first secondary chants to be discovered, most certainly by observation of the echoes and attempts on reproducing their form and capabilities.

Material Components

Flame charge, as every magic. La tends also to be a very tactile magic, so having limbs, while no required, greatly helps.

Gestures & Ritual

Mage´s will, magic drive and clear image are mandatory, but La also tends to be linked to tension gestures, like clenching teeth or fist, flexing muscles, or animal like groans.

Effect Duration

With no further addition, La longs as long as the will of the mage keeps it formed, until it separates of the magic source or the flame in the mage ends.

Effect Casting Time

A solid second, it´s harshness makes it the most slowly casted chant, though still damn quick.

Range

More range, more cost. One single lance like attack can get up to 15m. 2m it´s a good distance for a good chanter to fight for about 10 min. Common sustained use goes for about 1-1,20 m. (sword like) and lasts for about 30 min with one charge.

Level

First level chant: Form. A basic level, rather common amongst trained mages.

Applied Restriction

La and Fa chants are mutually exclusive. As with every form of magic, La depends on flame charges. La puts big stress over mind and body, so continued use without any rest it´s greatly disencouraged, as can pose a danger to the chanter and nearby ones alike.
