The Fey of the Glacier

Summary

A ship crashes into a glacier, stranding a large group of people onto it. They survive for a time before they are rescued. The survivors later become ill and violent, telling stories of their time on the glacier before lashing out and killing others and/or themselves. The stories all point to them becoming fey touched and cursed for intruding on an archfey's territory.

Historical Basis

A ship, purported to be unsinkable and capable of breaking any ice on the sea, crashed into this glacier and sunk. The survivors managed to live on the glacier for a short time before being rescued. Some would later report as having explored the glacier and finding a huge body of some kind frozen in the ice and that visions of that body haunted them in their dreams. Some committed suicide because of these visions.

Some say this is where the actual body of Derone the Reaver lays.
