The Mindbreaker
The farmer looked down to find a strange black and white ring. It was beautiful, he thought about taking it back and then selling it at the market the next day. When he brought it home after a long day and showed it to his family. The mother found it strange and didn't like it, the boy was captivated by its sharp edges and how different it looked to other rings he had seen, and the daughter found it pretty and wanted to keep it. At night the farmer couldn't sleep because he kept hearing whispers at night, telling him to keep it.
The next day, the man decided to put on the ring, just to get a feel for it. From that point on he couldn't really remember what happened, all he felt was the uselessness of doing anything of feeling anything. Soon enough, this poison passed on from him to his family to his cattle and, finally, to his crops. Everything came to and their bodies and minds slowly withered away as daemons of Apathy and Laziness tore into their minds and devoured them bit by bit. They were soon nothing more than husks, and the ring has been lost to the ages every since then; however, it has supposedly cropt up time to time.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Those who wear the Mindbreaker experience terrible, vivid nightmares. Daemons are immediately attracted to the wearer and will hound them any which way they can. The ring can also enhance the magical abilities of the wearer, specifically in the Realms of the Psyche.
Those that usually wear this ring go insane and either end up killing themselves or being killed by their loved ones. There are very few people that can master this ring, but those that can, supposedly, can order the daemons that follow them.
