Personal history

When his mother was pregnant with him and his sister, it was discovered that they were identical twins of the different gender. Although extremely rare, it happens sometimes. The female twin in this instance develops an illness that often gives major heart defects. His parents and the doctors prayed and prayed for the health of both twins throughout the pregnancy. When they were finally born, both of them were in perfect health condition. Their mother, Lillian, was sick after the pregnancy however. For years she struggled with an illness before finally passing on when the twins were 4.   After his mother passed away, he and his twin sister (Riviera) grew extremely close. Of course they were close before hand, but this was a new type of closeness that only twins could share. Their father, Lord Lucian Wainright, grew cold and harsh, horribly affected by the loss of his wife. He had always had a temper, but he had his wife to calm him. She was his moral compass. As the twins grew older, Thornen grew to idolize his father. He knew he would one day inherit the running of their manor and become head of the house. Lucian wasn't exactly kind to his children, seeing them as reminders of his wife. But in his eyes, Thornen had a purpose and benefit to him. Riviera was cast more to the side, taught to be a proper noble lady and be quiet unless spoken to, to obey her future husband. Thornen, following his fathers ideals, began to parrot some of the things his father said. When Thornen turned 12, joined Highgarde  to become a knight. He visited home on holidays and always kept in touch with Riviera by sending them letters. He felt homesick, but understood his duty as well. He was unaware of everything their father put Riviera through at home. When the twins turned 16, Thornen was a squire under a knight that served Lord Wainright, so he was able to return home. He was overjoyed to be home and reconnect with his sister, but that joy soon turned to horror as she disappeared from her room the night after he came home. Thornen and his father came to the conclusion that she had been kidnapped and Thornen set out on a quest across the region to find her and bring her home safe.
