Sea Serpents

Sea Serpents, while rare, are certainly real. They don’t usually appear near the surface of the seas, as they prefer to have room to move around, but every once in a while, a hundred-foot-long monstrosity might come from the depths to rip apart even the most sophisticated of ships, and there isn’t much to be done about that; as their name would suggest, the sea serpent is covered in tough scales, nigh impenetrable, and fangs longer than a man is tall. There’s no dealing with them, not unless you plan to send a fleet of Mages into the depths to go track down whichever serpent caused the latest shipwreck… Though, in some cases, it isn’t locating said beast that happens to be the problem. Betwixt Ironbrook and Blackwick , in a relatively narrow channel, is a rather huge beast that’s resided in those waters long enough to cause a significant problem. Sea serpents generally aren’t malicious by default… but they are territorial. Encroaching upon said territory is a losing game, even if you were unaware you’d started playing it.
