Golems

Golems are often considered to be a more tasteful alternative to Zombies when it comes to creating helpful entities; usually made from clay or mud and imbued with magic and purpose, they are nonverbal but seem to be intelligent - more so than a zombie, certainly. It’s common practice for middle or lower-class witches to create golems to assist them when needed, and golems will only ever listen to the instruction of who created them unless/until set free.
