Cairn of Camzots (KERN of KAM-sots)
Architecture
The Cairn of Camzots from outside looks like a small uneven mound of rocks with a large arched entryway in front. Entering it soon reveals three tunnels that go downwards into a complex set of chambers and adjoined rooms.
Defenses
The Cairn seemingly has the power to either bind or record the spirits of those that die within its premises, turning them into shades that defend the cairn and automatically attack those that enter it. It is also riddled with traps that seem to reset on their own after some time.
Most shades are mindless - but resolute enough individuals may retain their reasoning, adjusted to the new goal of defending the cairn.
History
The Cairn is one of the oldest, if not the oldest structure in the Altiplane of Tota - it for certain predates the settling of the city of New Palanq. Its builders and purpose is unknown - but with it being named after Camzots, the Palanqin name for Leutor the Winged Hunger, it can be assumed to be some sort of tomb or temple.
