Gauwick
The Gauwicks are considered one of the oldest families to have been sent to the Island; they can trace their ancestry right back to the first establishment of the Carcernatorum as a prison, an ancestor having worked their way as lamp-lighters and labourers to a place within the less restricted areas of the city.
Since then, the Gauwicks haven't stopped building; the family runs the first and only mass steelworks factory within the Carcernatorum, providing the Carcernatorum Watch with regular weaponry and armour. Their money ties and supplies have kept the Watch from breaking down the doors to their more illicit practises -- it doesn't hurt that they have a Warden purchasing their more refined narcotics made under the Steelwork factories.
Culture
With the Gauwicks, the only thing that's met with rewards is hard work and a good punching arm.
Public Agenda
Publicly, the Gauwicks own and run the steelworks of the City, providing many with work to afford to survive. Their contracts however, are often binding and impossible to get out of without consequences; a Gauwick might be generous, but a Gauwick never forgives.
Assets
The Gauwicks are the main money-makers of the city; what they don't make in trade with the Watch, they make up for in hooking the locals of Carce to the local common drug, Shoot. Their singular hold on the product on top of their position with
