Taikanite

"The lost tribe of Crystalline Dwarves. They used these crystals here to make those little stone critters you fought, in fact golemancey as we know it now a days is all thanks to discoveries like these old ruins."

Properties

Material Characteristics

These Quartz-like crystals grow in large clusters, they can be found in colors as plain as white to an impressive bright blue almost cyan. The color I've found is directly correlated to how much magical energy is stored within the crystal.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Most miners are told to steer clear of areas that they are found in because of their unstable properties they have a bad habit of exploding, others that have managed to mine them successfully have stated them to be warm and almost feel as tho they are vibrating. I'll take their word on it, I'm not interested in losing any fingers.

Geology & Geography

Stray clusters have been know to be found but the bulk of intact samples have been found in and around Crystalline Tribe ruins. We are still unsure if the tribe created the crystals or rather they just set up settlements near large deposits. *Further research is needed*

Life & Expiration

Seems to grow larger and more unstable depending on the ambient magic. Haven't heard of it ever exploding without provocation. Tho would anyone be around to report it, unsure?
Anyway I believe the white Taikanite to have a low concentration of magic but I'm still unsure if this is because all of the magic has drained over time or the crystal just hasn't been exposed to enough magic to stimulate growth. Getting sick of all these unknowns.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Was used in Dwarven golemancy. It's a bit too dangerous to work with and with no masters of the craft to be found we can only hope to find some ancient documentation of the craft.

Cultural Significance and Usage

A whole sub-section of Dwarves split from the capital of Vanha'lina to start their own tribe over the study of this stuff, guess it didn't work out well for them. Vanha'lina still stands as the main dwarven capital and the only thing left of the Crystalline Tribe is a bunch of ruins.

Distribution

Trade & Market

Anyone who is able to harvest these crystals are paid extremely well depending on the state of them. But most of the larger sites to mine these crystals are either forbidden grounds by dwarven law or kept locked up as a hot zone by the Adventures Initiative of Eos. Because of this you may only find them in black market dealings or other unsanctioned situations.

Storage

It would be best if traveling with Taikanite to keep it in a padded case or something of the like, you don't want it getting too shaken up.

Law & Regulation

Taikanite is illegal to own or experiment with without proper documentation in Eos and can carry harsh consequences.
In Vanha'lina it's not as big of a deal as the mining teams will often come upon some while digging, tho in most cases they'll try to avoid it as it's more trouble than it's worth to get it out of the way.
